My work is driven by two pursuits: mastering literary craft and achieving pedagogical precision. In my literary life, I focus on the patient work of translating complexity into art and insight. For schools and organizations, I leverage my background as an educator to design instructional frameworks that transform confusion into clarity, creating intentional spaces for rigor and growth.

 
Strategic Implementation & Instructional Leadership

  • Developmental Editor | Adrienne Arsht Center (2023): Served as the pedagogical architect for the Busy Bee’s Great Adventure Educator Resource Guide. I restructured raw content into a cohesive, standards-aligned framework and authored core curriculum to ensure the guide met the high demands of classroom implementation.

  • Judge | LaPlume Young Writers Competition, Miami (2025): Serving as an expert evaluator for this city-wide youth writing initiative, auditing manuscripts and identifying emerging literary talent based on narrative structure and technical proficiency.

  • Mentor | NYS Teaching Artist Mentorship Program (2024): Providing strategic coaching to educators on professional sustainability and curriculum rigor, helping them bridge the gap between creative practice and pedagogical standards.

  • PD Presenter | Adrienne Arsht Center (2023–2024): Led professional development for educators and artists, focusing on high-impact strategies for integrating arts and literacy into the 47-minute classroom reality.

  • Curriculum Writer | “I AM Me” Tour (2022): Developed and facilitated identity-based storytelling frameworks, translating abstract creative concepts into actionable, rigorous workshop modules.

  • Content Developer | Earthseed Black Family Archive Project (2022): Sponsored by Northwestern University. Developed strategies for translating primary source oral histories into narrative-driven curriculum.

  • Instructional Consultant | EL Education (2019): Provided high-level consulting and professional development for the implementation of the EL Education K-12 Language Arts curriculum.Focused on empowering educators to deliver rigorous, student-centered instruction while navigating the practicalities of district-wide curriculum adoption.
